The project architects Paul Brown were looking for an option where the structural waterproofing membrane could be laid to shallow falls including a Zero fall application. By providing the architects with this option it allowed them more height to play with in design of the apartments. Due to council rules That govern threshold heights at the balcony entrances you are restricted unless you can lay the membranes to lower falls.

WATERPROOFING SOLUTION

By specifying our structural waterproofing Permatec it is laid directly onto the concrete slab and by doing this you can eliminate wet trades and save on time and money throughout the project. Also, by laying the membrane to shallower falls it gives greater stability to the tile Jack system.

Asphaltech was involved early in the design stage to elevate any design issues. Working through the design process allowed us to select the most suitable products and systems for the balcony areas and lower podium.

Project system used

Hot Melt Waterproofing Podium Deck Roofing

Permatec Deck and podium system

Permatec the ultimate fully bonded hot melt system was used to provide long term waterproofing solution to this stunning apartment building. The balcony s were all waterproofed with Permatec and the stunning podium area was waterproofed with the ultimate zero fall waterproofing solution.

Hot Melt Waterproofing Inverted Ballasted Roofing

Permatec inverted warm roof system

The permatec inverted warm roof system was chosen over a traditional warm roof system due to the speed of waterproofing the structure allowing for the fitout to continue and then installing the insulation ontop of the membrane latter. Saving project time and costs along the way.
