Located in Onehunga, Manaaki is an upscale apartment complex comprising four buildings with a total of 210 luxurious units. Designed to offer residents a blend of modern living and natural surroundings, this mid-rise development boasts amenities such as a pool, subtropical gardens, residents’ lounge, in-house café, and work-from-home spaces.

Asphaltech played a pivotal role in the early stages of Manaaki’s design phase, collaborating closely with the architectural team. For the Green Roof System, we installed Neuchatel’s advanced Permatec waterproofing solution. Permatec stands out as a superior product, offering quick and hassle-free installation. Its direct bond to the substrate effectively prevents lateral tracking of water, ensuring optimum protection against moisture intrusion. Permatec also incorporates an antiroot inhibitor, preventing any penetration of roots into the product and enhancing its longevity.

In the balcony areas, we chose Permatec for its lightweight properties and ease of installation onto the decks. The system’s monolithic nature allowed our team to seamlessly integrate it into doorways, windows, and cladding, resulting in a flawless finish.
